Sleep, awakening

وَ مِنْ آیَاتِهِ مَنَامُکُم بِاللَّیْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَابْتِغَاؤُکُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ
And the sleep is one of holy signs, in night and day, and your diet requesting from God, (Rum surah verse 23).
وَ جَعَلنا نَومَكُم سُباتا
And we place the sleep for your inspissations life and rest (Naba surah, verse 9).
Sleep is one of the necessities of life, for all of creatures, and in this way, creatures can obtain their lost force, again, and can be able to survive, and it also cause to being breather and return to vitality and freshness and human’s ability and other creatures.
In the verse of وَ جَعَلنا نَومَکُم سُباتا, sleep is often indicated as lethargy, and lethargy is cause of feebleness and weakness, although, sleep is a physiological phenomenon, however, when we sleep, our brain will be closed, strangely, and the body and cells can refresh, and retrieve their lost energy, as a result, sleep is one kind of superficial and temporary anesthetic, and have various degrees, for example, the superficial sleep is called nap, in this manner, and sometimes the ears are still hear, but may be the eyes do not see, and as we know, in this manner, the ablution is not invalidate, but if both ears do not hear and both eyes do not see, the person should perform to ablution for praying.
And there are deep sleeps, from napping to deep sleep, and in these cases, the person needs to stronger stimulation to be awake, because, whatever more conquest of water or phlegm, it will be appeared more deep sleep, so, if we want to treat, a person who have problem in sleeping, we should increase her/his humidity rates, by reforming the diet, for example, drinking a glass of warm milk at nigh (preferably, natural cow milk, that associated with reformer such as: dates, honey, saffron), it can solve the sleeping problem, and consuming cheeses as dinner (associated with its reformer like nut), and can create an ease sleep.
On the contrary, if someone is unpleasant from plentiful and deep sleeping, we can relieve the sleeping problem, by reducing coldness and humidity foods, and reforming the diet, such as: Consuming warm and dry herbal teas, like saffron, ginger, cinnamon and cardamom.
In narration of Imam asked him (PBUH) “why we sleep too much” “Because you drink too much water” He said. And they asked “why we drink too much water”? “Because you eat too much foods” so, we should know that overeating is one of these reasons is too much sleeping, that leads to drinking too much water, and too much humidity leads to too much body sleeping.
There is another narration that, the sleep is brother of death, and we should know that continuous sleeping cause to overcoming the mucus, and cellular dysfunction, and finally it can reduce the human life.
The human requirement of sleeping will be reduced by aging, as in a healthy adult person, does not require more than 5 to 6 hours.
Therefore, we can reduce our sleeping hours, by full observing of health triangle, and increase to our life, and spend these added hours to scientific study and meditate in verses of Quran.
